Potty-Training part 2

So my previous post was just a little brief excerpt from my life.  Here are some tips I have found online about potty training.
  • Many websites say to offer bribes for using the potty.  Reward your child for each time they use the potty.  A simple snack or new toy may be sufficient.  There are always many different ways that you can reward your child such as these:
    • A snack
    • A toy
    • A trip to their favorite family members house
    • A trip to the park
    • Their favorite dinner
    • A play date with one of their friends
    • A special parent child day
    • A movie they like to watch
  • A way to teach little boys to use the potty is by always letting Daddy show them.  There are a couple other ways to teach a little boy to use the potty standing up.
    • You can throw a few Cheerios in the potty and tell them to hit the rings
    • You can put the blue stuff in the toilet that cleans it and have them make bubbles
    • Have daddy show them that it is like a grown up
  • You can always make a game out of it.
    • Tell them that whoever uses the potty the most wins.
    • Have a prize for the end of the day for the winner.
    • If you do not have any other children to help them with this game you can play along.
  • You can tell them that the poop and pee go somewhere important and do something important.
    • Tell them that it goes to feed something and if they do not use the potty whatever it is you told them it will feed will go hungry.
  • Take them to the bathroom every 20-30 minutes.  This should have affect.  But  if they throw a complete fit give them a little more time.
  • Let your child go without any clothes.
    • This can make them want to go to the potty.
    • Especially before bath time.
  • Have your child tell their pee and poop bye bye.
    • This can create a sense of accomplishment that something is going away and they can make it go away.
    • This scares some children though some believe their pee and poop to be part of them still and do not want it to go.
  • All kids love stickers.
    • Use stickers for each time that they use the potty.
    • At the end of the day they can show their stickers off to someone that wasn't around for the actual potty moments this way they get extra attention for using the potty.
  • Where the potty is at can be everything
    • Make the experience comfortable to begin with.
    • If your child has a normal spot that they go and hide to go number 2 put the potty seat there so that they are still hiding but also being a big kid.
    • If your child stays in the living room or in their bed room the majority of the day put the potty there so they feel more comfortable.
  • Give them something to do while they are on the potty.
    • Set some small toys or small books next to the potty so they can stay occupied while they go.
Remember potty training is a process.... Be Patient.  Always praise them for doing good and have faith.  You will be out of diapers before you know it and into big girl or big boy underpants.

Thoughts to remember

  • Be Patient
  • Have Faith
  • Praise Them
  • Help Them
Oh and some parents can do it cold turkey just get rid of the diapers or pull ups and use panties or underwear.  Sometimes that may be just what it takes.

GOOD LUCK IN ALL YOUR POTTY ENDEAVORS

Pillsbury Pizza Crust, Ragu Pizza Sauce, & My Essentials Mozzarella Cheese

I made pizza for supper tonight....that being said I will give you my reviews of these products.

Pillsbury Pizza Crust
It had a very good taste and the price is very reasonable but there were a few things that I did not like about this product.
  • The way the crust was rolled in the can made it very hard to get out without tearing the dough and causing holes in the crust.  Therefore making the beginning process of getting the pizza ready to go into the oven very hard.
  • The shape of the crust was rectangular which made it artisan style pizza.  This was the only crust type I found at my grocery store.  When it came time to cut the pizza you had to cut it into squares.  This is fine unless you have very picky or OCD children.  :)
  • Once you cook the pizza the crust on the outside burns along with some toppings while the center crust cooks but not fully.  It is still doughy in some places even after following all directions carefully.
Ragu Pizza Sauce
This product was very tasteful and is priced very well.  However there was one thing I did not like about this product.
  • The amount in the jar (which is the smallest amount you can purchase by Ragu).  I only used approximately a half a cup for my pizza leaving over half a jar of pizza sauce to go to waste.
My Essentials Mozzarella Cheese
There isn't very much I can say about this product because I purchase this product solely on price.

Someone had to say it....

Something I just totally do not understand is all this NFL pools everyone seems to be doing at work.  Watching every game and aggravating your entire family with constantly having it on football all day on Sunday will not get you anywhere.  Just because you see them win one game does not mean they will win the next.  It is  honestly up to the players whether they win or not.  There is not an equation that will help you figure out who is going to go further in the playoffs.  Nor is there a ratio you can use to determine who will win which game.  My husband is currently doing this with a bunch of the guys he works with, he knows nothing about football.  But yet he still wants to spend hard earned money on something that has no chance of ever being constant.  I myself do not understand any of this.  Now the stock market is a totally different story at least with it you have a hint at what can happen.  Either the product you invest in is a hit or it isn't.  With the amount of publicity a product has can determine the value in the market and whether you should invest or not.  With these sports pools there isn't anything to help determine the outcome.  That is just my thoughts on the subject.

New To Blogging

I recently got this great idea to start blogging.  I am totally new to this so I'm just gonna wing it until I learn more.  I have no clue what-so-ever as to what to post about, how to get traffic to my weblog, what type of layouts I should have or anything.  Therefore I will write about everyday life and controversial issues.  With this in mind I will warn everyone now that some of the topics I will be very outspoken about.  But this is my page and I have the right to my opinion and the right to voice that opinion.  I am not out to offend anyone but I am out to say what I feel.  Thanks!

My Journey Into Potty Training

I have a two year old daughter that is beginning to show interest in using the potty.  I have let her take charge of this on her own.  She showed interest at about 18 months old but when I began pushing her to use the potty on her own it was a lost battle.  She done exceptionally well for several weeks, only wetting her diaper at night.  Then I began to ask her when she would go periods of time without using the bathroom and this seemed to aggravate her.  Causing her to not go or even try to go to the potty.  I finally gave up on it all together.  I was terrified that she would be difficult to potty train.  She has recently picked interest in using the potty again.  This time I am letting this be completely up to her.  Each day seems to get better.  She goes longer periods of time without wetting a diaper.  My husband seems to be set on getting pull-ups and using them.  I myself on the other hand am scared that pull-ups will just seem the same as a diaper.  I have started rewarding her for using the potty on her own.  She gets a treat such as getting a  pack of her favorite gummies or if she goes number 2 in the potty she gets rewarded with something new for her baby dolls.  This seems to be working and I hope that my efforts in making this an easy process for her prevails.  :)
